Wrapped in a mantle of deep blue and scattered with golden stars, the Mother of God bends her head to rest against the Christ Child. For centuries Mary has been called Star of the Sea, the light that guides travelers safely home, and the stars on her mantle are one of the oldest signs by which she is known in icons.
Each card is printed on premium textured cardstock and then finished by hand. The halos and the trim of her veil are touched with gold-colored leaf, and every star is painted individually so it catches the light as the card moves. Because each card is embellished one at a time, no two are exactly alike.
A traditional prayer to the Mother of God is printed on the back. The card comes with a matching envelope, closed with a wax seal, so it arrives ready to give.
