The Seven Sorrows
This exquisite Orthodox icon of the Seven Sorrows of Mary is a deeply moving devotional piece, rich with symbolic meaning and spiritual resonance. The icon centers on the Theotokos, her heart pierced by seven spears - each representing a profound sorrow she endured, from the prophecy of Simeon to the burial of her Son: This prophecy foretold the deep suffering Mary would endure throughout her life, culminating in the events of Jesus’ Passion, death, and burial.

A powerful aid for meditation and enduring suffering. This icon is perfect for personal veneration or as a meaningful gift of faith and empathy.

More About Icons
Icons hold profound importance in religious life because they serve as visual representations of divine and sacred figures, helping worshippers connect spiritually with their faith. Often referred to as "windows to the divine," icons provide a focal point for meditation and prayer, allowing believers to feel a tangible link to the spiritual world. Through their symbolic imagery and deeply rooted religious meanings, icons can convey complex theological concepts in a way that transcends words, making spiritual truths more accessible. Additionally, the process of creating and venerating icons is itself an act of devotion, fostering a deep sense of reverence and continuity with ancient traditions in the practice of faith.
